Ukraine takes up duty in NATO Response Force

Ukraine has for the first time taken up duty in the NATO Response Force (NRF) of the 15th rotation.

NATO's Supreme Allied Commander for Europe Admiral James Stavridis reported this in a note of thanks addressed to the Ukrainian side, Interfax-Ukraine learned in the Mission of Ukraine to NATO in Brussels on Tuesday.

In particular, the letter notes that Ukraine is the first partner country, which has contributed its forces and means to the NATO Response Force. According to Stavridis, the successful cooperation between NATO and Ukraine aimed at the preparation of radiological, chemical and biological defense forces (NBC) and performing tasks as part of multinational NBC defense troops is an outstanding event in the framework of bilateral military cooperation.

The Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe recognizes and appreciates Ukraine's efforts on this important contribution to the NATO Response Force (NRF) of the 15th rotation, and the efforts for further development and transformation of national potential of NBC defense troops, the letter reads.
